Bluebonnet Family Photography in Sunnyvale, Tx Serving Mesquite and surrounding Dallas areas
If you grew up in Texas, chances are you’ve got at least one photo of yourself as a kid sitting in a patch of bluebonnets—maybe wearing cowboy boots, a sun dress, and squinting in the sun. It’s basically a childhood rite of passage around here. And now, as parents, with bluebonnet season upon us, you’re probably thinking about carrying on that tradition with your own family.
But let me guess: You love the idea of family photos AND secretly worry your kids won’t sit still... won’t smile... or won’t "cooperate."
Let me ease your mind: You don’t need "perfect behavior" to get beautiful, meaningful photos. In fact, that’s not even the goal.
Real Talk: I Photograph Real Families (Not Magazine Covers)
As a family and couples photographer in Mesquite, TX, I’ve heard it all from parents before a session:
“My kids are wild.”
“I’m just hoping for one decent photo.”
But here’s the thing—I’m not expecting your kids to perform. I’m expecting them to be themselves. And when they can be themselves? That’s where the magic happens.
I take a laid-back, play-first approach to my sessions. I'll cue your kids to run, explore, snuggle, tickle, pick flowers or dig in the dirt, tell silly jokes—whatever it takes to create space for genuine connection. We’re not out here to force stiff poses. We’re inviting moments to unfold.

Bonus Superpower: I’m a Pediatric OT, Too!
Here’s a little not-so-secret secret: in addition to photography, I’m also a pediatric occupational therapist. So when I say I know how to meet your kids where they’re at—I really mean it.
Whether your child is shy, high-energy, sensitive to sensory input, or just having a tough day—I’ve got tools, tricks, and the patience to match. This is what I do every day in clinic. Photography is simply another way I get to connect with kids and families.
So bring your whole beautiful, unpredictable selves. I promise you: the “imperfections” are usually the moments you’ll treasure most.
Let’s Make It Easy (and Fun)
If you’ve been putting off family photos because you’re worried your kids won’t “behave,” let this be the sign you needed: It doesn’t have to be "perfect" to be beautiful.
